In the Peterborough Evening Telegraph on Monday 21st July 2008 there
was an article about a public meeting to be held on Wednesday 23rd July,
concerning my company's proposed Magna Park development.
I would like to inform local residents who plan to attend this
meeting that my company will not be present, nor have we agreed with
the meeting organiser that we would be. I would hate anyone hoping
to meet me on this occasion to have a wasted journey.
Gazeley is committed to keeping local residents informed about our plans.
Already we have written twice to Stanground residents, and we are writing
to Whittlesey residents, and in those communications we have passed on all
of the information that we are currently able to do. I have received letters
and emails about the proposal, all of which I have replied to as best as
I am able to at this moment.
With a development such as the one proposed we have to engage a number of
consultants to report on matters like transport, ecology, drainage, services
and the like. Until these reports are complete there really is nothing new
I can add to local people’s knowledge about the proposals. In our future
newsletters we will publish the very latest information.
I can also confirm that I have agreed with the local residents’ group in
Stanground, through a Mr Harper, to host a visit to a working Magna Park
site and to meet with them and answer their questions. The visit will be
in the autumn when I hope to be in a better position to provide more
answers to questions.
