New traffic calming measures on the Whittlesey Road through Stanground will deter its use as a through route and make it safer by forcing traffic to slow down.

We’ve agreed with Peterborough City Council that we will use their ‘Peterborough Transportation Model’ model to examine possible changes in traffic flows, both with and without our development.
We want to learn the traffic implications of our development and then to propose improvements to relieve congestion, if appropriate.

Every tenant on site must have an ‘Employee Travel Plan’ to reduce the number of cars on the local roads. The Travel Plan will encourage employees to join the City Council’s car sharing scheme that encourages people travelling to the same workplace to share a lift. It’s our intention that buses should serve the site, with bus stops and a turning area within the development, and we will encourage staff to cycle or walk to work whenever appropriate. Magna Park will provide jobs within easy distance for people living in the new housing being built at Stanground South.
Jobs Magna Park Peterborough will employ 4,000 people directly on site in a wide range of roles from high-level management to manual jobs. It will include a large number of office based positions as well as warehousing jobs, and many IT positions to run the systems looking after ‘just in time’ stock control. Continue >>
